Austin Layer

2018 Vice President

Austin Layer and her horse, Best N The House, will be representing SCQHYA at the all American Quarter Horse Congress in NYATT Horsemanship. This new team will also be competing in Novice 14-18 Western Pleasure and Youth 15-18 Horsemanship. “House” and Austin are under the guidance of CrossRidge Ranch (Brad & Terri Layer, her parents) and Clint Ainsworth Show Horses.

Sarah Prynne

Sarah Prynne. Sarah was the SCQHA youth reining champion for 2015, 2016, and 2017. She has also won a Youth All Around award in 2017.

SCQHYA congratulates Sarah on her accomplishments and will support her in the reining pen and her All-Around classes.

 

Alexis Potts

 2018 Secretary

Alexis Potts is showing Jet Set Invitation at the 2018 All American Quarter Horse Congress, a 2005 bay mare aka “Jessie”. They will show in NYATT Showmanship and will also be showing at the Congress in all-around 12-14 events as well as L1 13 and under. Alexis currently rides at home with her parents, TR and Christine Potts and gets instruction at shows from Clint Ainsworth.

Alexis is currently in 8th grade, is in the Beta Club and is a pitcher for her softball team. She also enjoys swimming, selling slime through her Etsy shop and hanging with her friends. Her dream is to ride for The University of South Carolina on the equestrian team someday.

 

2018 NYATT                       Congress Team

Ashlyn Gonzalves is 15 years old and will be competing at the Congress for her second time. She and her horse “Dees Sox R Hot” love competing in the pattern classes, but also show hunter under saddle and jumping. She will be showing in the NYATT Showmanship and Hunter Under Saddle representing SCQHYA. Some of her accomplishments include qualifying for the Level 1 championships and earning many circuit champion awards. She is an honors student planning on pursuing dermatology.

Emerson Madonia is 15 years old, Honor Roll student at SouthLake Christian Academy. Emme has been riding since she was 6 years old, starting out as an on the English USEF circuit as a hunter/jumper. She switched to Western when she discovered reining at the age of 12.

Her horse’s name is Vinnie(Electric Performance), he is 7 years old, it was love at first sight, they have been riding together since March.
